Ho Chi Minh City hosts ‘I Love My Fatherland’ ceremony at Le Thi Rieng Park

Hundreds of youth members and prominent artists gathered at Le Thi Rieng Park in Ho Chi Minh City on August 28 for the ‘I Love My Fatherland’ flag-raising ceremony. Organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam Youth Federation, the event serves to promote patriotic education and commemorate the upcoming 81st anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day in 2026.

The ceremony also launched the ‘I Love My Fatherland’ journey for 2026. Notable participants included Miss Universe Vietnam H'Hen Niê, singer Phuong Thanh, and MC Vu Manh Cuong. The event held particular solemnity as it took place near an area where efforts are ongoing to search for and identify the remains of fallen soldiers.

Participants expressed deep gratitude to previous generations, noting the historical significance of the park as a site associated with the 1968 Tet Offensive. The ceremony aimed to connect historical sacrifices with the responsibilities of the younger generation in preserving peace.
