Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon to host 24,000 runners

The 9th edition of the Techcombank Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon has officially launched, scheduled to take place from December 4 to 6. The event is part of the 6th Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Week, themed “Vibrant Ho Chi Minh City Fest.”

Organizers expect a record-breaking participation of over 24,000 Vietnamese and international runners. The competition aims to promote physical activity and sports tourism, helping to establish Ho Chi Minh City as a premier destination for international sporting events. The event includes various categories, such as a “KIDS RUN” on December 5 to encourage healthy habits in children.

Over the past eight seasons, the marathon has significantly impacted the local economy. Between 2022 and 2025, the event's direct and indirect economic impact was estimated at over 25.7 million USD, boosting sectors such as accommodation, dining, and shopping. The marathon is organized by local authorities, Sunrise Events Vietnam, and Techcombank.
