Ho Chi Minh City launches digital transformation and elderly care models

Ho Chi Minh City has introduced several new initiatives aimed at improving public services and elderly care. In Binh Duong Ward, a new model for elderly healthcare and social activities was launched at the local medical station. This initiative seeks to provide a friendly space for seniors to monitor their health and engage in community activities. Local officials noted that the ward has also successfully implemented lifelong health record models and home-based care for elderly individuals who are frail or unable to visit medical facilities.

Additionally, the city launched three digital transformation models to enhance citizen services in response to Vietnam Digital Citizen Day. These models include integrating public transportation data—such as metro and bus routes—into the VNeID platform to allow for electronic ticketing. The city is also connecting birth and death certificate databases to streamline administrative procedures and has established a rapid response team linked to the 1022 hotline to assist families with home-based death registration services. The city aims to use citizen satisfaction as a key metric for evaluating the performance of local officials and agencies.
