Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai expressway land clearance reaches 98.63%
Ho Chi Minh City is working to complete land clearance for the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai expressway section passing through the city. The segment spans approximately 24.7 km across five communes: Phu Hoa Dong, Nhuan Duc, Thai My, Cu Chi, and Tan An Hoi.
As of current reports, 98.63% of the required land area (185.17 hectares) has been handed over, involving 2,089 cases. Out of 2,118 total cases, 94.1% have agreed to compensation and resettlement, totaling over 5,064 billion VND. Despite high handover rates, officials noted that progress remains slower than required.
City leadership has set a target to finalize all land clearance by October 2026. To address remaining obstacles, the city is focusing on resettlement arrangements, temporary housing support, and resolving issues related to workshops, crops, and livestock. A resettlement area in Nhuan Duc commune is expected to be operational by the end of 2026.
