Ho Chi Minh City Named World's Best Street‑Food Destination by Time Out

The global travel magazine Time Out released its 2026 ranking of the 20 cities with the best street food, based on a survey of 24,000 urban residents. Ho Chi Minh City topped the list with 63 % of local respondents rating its street‑food scene as excellent, making it the first Vietnamese city to claim the number‑one spot. The ranking also placed Kuala Lumpur second with 62 % support, while Jakarta and Taipei tied for third at 59 % each. Hanoi appeared at seventh place with 57 % backing.

Time Out’s methodology asked residents to evaluate price, quality and variety across cafés, breakfast spots, fine‑dining venues and street‑food stalls. The result highlights Ho Chi Minh City’s vibrant alley‑way eateries, from Ben Thanh market to iconic bánh mì stalls, as a major draw for both domestic and international tourists.
