Ho Chi Minh City tops 2026 global street‑food rankings

The travel magazine Time Out released its 2026 list of the 20 cities with the best street‑food scenes, based on a survey of more than 24,000 urban residents who rated quality, price and overall appeal. Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam secured the top spot with 63 % of local respondents rating its street‑food positively, outpacing Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Taipei, Mexico City and Manila. The city also boasts six Michelin‑starred restaurants, including the well‑known Anan Saigon, yet the ranking highlights the everyday alley‑side experiences around Ben Thanh Market – steaming bowls of phở, crisp bánh mì and other iconic dishes. Hanoi placed seventh with 57 % support, while Lima (Peru) was named the world’s overall best cuisine city. The results underscore the growing international appeal of Vietnamese street‑food culture.
