Ho Chi Minh City offers free health checkups to war invalids and policy beneficiaries

Hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City provided free medical examinations, medicines and counselling to policy‑beneficiary families, war invalids and residents of former revolutionary bases in honour of the 79th War Invalids and Martyrs' Day. On 25‑26 July, Military Hospital 175, working with the Hanh Thong ward People's Committee, screened 1,200 participants. Major General Dr. Tran Quoc Viet, the hospital director, said the facility set up a dedicated examination area to streamline the process. During the first day doctors identified signs of a heart attack in one participant and transferred him for emergency treatment, enabling timely intervention.

The programme also served as a test of coordination, data management and logistics ahead of Ho Chi Minh City's planned universal health‑screening programme. In recent days Thong Nhat Hospital carried out similar activities, including health checks and gifts for Vietnamese Heroic Mother Duong Kim Lan and health services for nearly 600 beneficiaries in Vung Tau ward, with home visits for elderly or immobile residents.
