Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital faces radiotherapy patient backlog
Patients at the Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital are facing significant delays for radiotherapy treatments. Despite machines operating continuously from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM, thousands of patients face waiting periods ranging from several days to as long as four weeks.
Dr. Vo Hong Minh Phuoc, Deputy Director of the hospital, stated that while approximately 750 to 800 patients receive radiotherapy daily, there are between 800 and 900 patients currently waiting. The high volume of patients has led to crowded waiting areas and hallways, with many patients and their relatives waiting late into the night to receive treatment.
