Ho Chi Minh City partners with Plug & Play to build AI Center of Excellence

The Ho Chi Minh City Startup Hub (SIHUB), the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), and Plug & Play Singapore have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish an Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence (AI COE) in Ho Chi Minh City.

The center is designed to operate through a collaboration between the state, academia, and the private sector. It will focus on research, incubation, startup acceleration, and the practical application of AI technologies. The AI COE will be built upon three main pillars:

First, establishing strategic frameworks and providing AI and innovation training for students, faculty, government officials, and corporate personnel. Second, implementing startup acceleration programs for AI ventures in priority sectors, offering mentorship and connections to international investors. Third, addressing specific challenges from government agencies and businesses by testing and commercializing suitable technological solutions.

Plug & Play, a global innovation platform founded in Silicon Valley, will leverage its extensive network of over 100,000 startups and 550 corporate partners to help connect Vietnamese enterprises and startups to global markets and expert networks.
