Ho Chi Minh City pigeons spark outrage after man filmed catching birds

Flocks of pigeons have become a long-standing symbol of peace and tranquility in downtown Ho Chi Minh City. Residents frequently visit parks such as Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street, Lam Son Park, and Le Van Tam Park to feed the birds, making the animals a distinctive part of the urban landscape.

However, a recent video showing a young man catching two pigeons at Lam Son Square has sparked widespread public outrage. The footage, which was shared on social media, shows the individual approaching a feeding flock and capturing the birds, an act witnessed by locals and tourists alike.

A representative from the Saigon Ward People's Committee described the man's actions as inappropriate, noting that such behavior could negatively impact the city's image and tourism environment. Authorities stated that the pigeons are wild and have indicated they will inspect the case to address the incident.
