Ho Chi Minh City plans 1,000 hectares for digital technology zones

Ho Chi Minh City has approved a plan to develop new concentrated digital technology zones between 2026 and 2030. The project requires between 750 and 1,000 hectares of land. The city aims to utilize a funding model where every 1 unit of state capital mobilizes 9 units of corporate capital, with an estimated $400 million in state funds for core infrastructure and $3.6 to $4 billion in social capital. The initiative is expected to create 400,000 to 500,000 digital jobs and attract major technology corporations and R&D centers.

In other regional developments, Can Tho has issued regulations for the strict management and continuous monitoring of environmental data to ensure transparency and prevent tampering. Meanwhile, Hanoi has announced a list of 81 locations for the collection and temporary storage of construction waste, including 21 sites capable of recycling, to prevent delays in key infrastructure projects.

Additionally, Ho Chi Minh City has set a target to resolve severe flooding at three specific locations—Phan Van Hon Street, Binh Quoi Street, and the National Highway 51 - Huynh Thuc Khang intersection—by 2026.
