Ho Chi Minh City police arrest director and seize 10,000 fake Crocs

On 20 June, the Economic Crime Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City announced the dismantling of a large counterfeit Crocs production and distribution network operating out of Thăng Đạt Shoe Company. Police seized nearly 10,000 pairs of fake Crocs valued at about 500 million VND, along with extensive production equipment. The company’s director, Nguyễn Văn Thắng (born 1976), and manager Lâm Thanh Vững (born 1991) were charged with violating industrial‑property rights. The investigation traced the operation from January 2024, involving 12 workers and generating profits of tens of billions of VND. The raid, carried out with ward‑level police in Di An, follows directives from the Prime Minister and public‑security leadership to combat intellectual‑property crimes and protect legitimate businesses and consumers.
