Phuoc Hai stabbing: One dead and two injured in Ho Chi Minh City

Police in Ho Chi Minh City have arrested Nguyen Tri Hao, 24, in connection with a fatal stabbing in Phuoc Hai commune that left one person dead and two others injured on the evening of September 13.

The victim, identified as 72-year-old P.H.T., was killed while watching television in his home. His wife, 58-year-old L.T.M., and their son-in-law, 24-year-old N.V.L., sustained various injuries while attempting to intervene or escape. Both survivors are currently receiving treatment at Ba Ria General Hospital and are reported to be out of critical danger.

Preliminary investigations suggest the motive may be related to a past romantic relationship. Family members stated that the suspect had previously been in a relationship with the victim's daughter before she married the son-in-law. Authorities noted that the suspect, who reportedly has a history of drug use, was apprehended after fleeing the scene on a motorcycle. The Ho Chi Minh City Police Investigation Agency is continuing to investigate the motive and full circumstances of the attack.
