The group bought high‑follower fanpages, renamed them (e.g., “Vé Số Đại Lộc 999”), and advertised high‑probability winnings to lure participants. Fake accounts posted false winning results and pre‑printed tickets to build trust, then demanded additional payments for “fees” before releasing the prize. Victims transferred money ranging from 500,000 to 5,000,000 đồng per ticket; the suspects reportedly earned about 49.5 million đồng and 30 million đồng respectively. The operation was coordinated by Đặng Ngọc Thạch, who hired the suspects to work from the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, extending the fraud across the Vietnam‑Laos border. Police seized evidence, detained the four suspects and are continuing the investigation to identify any further participants.
