Hoang Thuy Linh arrested for leading transnational crime ring

Police in Ha Tinh province, in coordination with Lao authorities and the Ha Tinh Border Guard, have arrested Hoang Thuy Linh, a highly dangerous fugitive accused of leading a transnational criminal syndicate.

The organization, operating out of the Golden Triangle region in Bokeo province, Laos, reportedly consists of over 150 Vietnamese members. The group engaged in sophisticated fraud and human trafficking operations.

To deceive victims in Vietnam, the syndicate used fake Facebook accounts featuring images of wealthy individuals and successful entrepreneurs to build trust. They often established romantic relationships with victims before tricking them into investing in the OYO application with promises of high returns. Authorities are continuing to investigate the full extent of the ring's activities.
