Ho Chi Minh City provides free health screenings to nearly 2 million residents

Ho Chi Minh City has conducted free health screenings for nearly 2 million residents as of August 10. The city's universal health checkup program has significantly accelerated, with recent weekly figures rising to between 300,000 and 400,000 people, compared to the initial phase of 30,000 to 40,000 people per week.

While some areas have achieved high coverage rates exceeding 60%, such as Phuoc Thang ward, others remain below 5%, including Ben Thanh and Ban Co wards. Tang Chi Thuong, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, noted the significant disparity between different localities but highlighted that areas with low cumulative rates have begun to see rapid increases in screenings. The program aims to establish electronic health records to ensure continuous health management for the city's population.
