Ho Chi Minh City raises museum admission fees

Ho Chi Minh City is implementing new admission fees for several museums and historical sites following a resolution by the municipal People’s Council. Starting October 1, domestic and international visitors will be charged VND60,000 per visit at the War Remnants Museum, the Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts, the Ho Chi Minh City Museum, the Ho Chi Minh City Museum of History, the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Museum, and the Con Dao Special National Historical Site.

The Bach Dinh Historical Site will have an admission fee of VND30,000. Several other locations, including the Ho Chi Minh Museum (Ho Chi Minh City Branch), the Ton Duc Thang Museum, the Southern Women’s Museum, and the Binh Duong Museum, have not yet introduced admission charges.

Students and children are exempt from these fees. Other groups eligible for free admission include people with especially severe disabilities and members of poor or near-poor households. A 50 percent discount is available to senior citizens, people with severe disabilities, ethnic minorities from disadvantaged socio-economic areas, and individuals with meritorious services to the revolution.
