Ho Chi Minh City reaches 5.74 million universal health screenings
Ho Chi Minh City has recorded over 5.74 million health screenings and assessments as part of its universal health check-up program. Currently, 69 out of 168 wards and communes in the city have achieved a cumulative participation rate of 50% or higher.
However, challenges remain in certain areas, with 59 localities reporting participation rates below 40%. Specifically, 50 localities fall between 30% and 40%, while nine localities have rates below 30%. The Department of Health has identified students as a high-coverage group at 85.4%, but worker participation stands at 23% and student participation at 20.9%, marking these as priority groups for future efforts.
To ensure quality, the Department of Health has deployed 15 assessment teams to evaluate medical facilities. Among the 14 facilities evaluated so far, five have achieved Grade A status: Binh Duong General Hospital, Le Van Thinh Hospital, Trung My Tay General Hospital, Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital, and Thu Duc Regional General Hospital. The Department is working to standardize electronic health records and address data discrepancies to improve long-term citizen health monitoring.
