Ho Chi Minh City rolls out blue reflective paint on bus stops

Blue reflective paint has been applied to a number of bus‑stop zones along central streets in Ho Chi Minh City. The bright blue strips run along the curb, extending about 13 m long and 2 m wide, and will later be overlaid with yellow markings. Designed to be non‑slippery, the paint makes bus‑stop areas more visible to pedestrians and signals other drivers not to park in the lane.

The Transport Management Centre says the pilot, launched on 23 June, targets high‑traffic locations such as schools, hospitals, and densely populated neighborhoods. The measure is part of preparations for the city’s plan to make bus fares free starting 1 July, aiming to improve safety and convenience for bus users and overall public‑transport experience.
