Ho Chi Minh City sets new crop and livestock compensation rates

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has issued Decision No. 60/2026/QD-UBND, establishing new compensation rates for crops and livestock in cases of state land recovery. Effective August 15, the regulation introduces specific pricing for various agricultural products and animals.

A notable provision in the decision is that compensation rates for crops and livestock in the Con Dao special zone will be set at 1.8 times the standard unit price. For other areas, specialized gardens and eco-tourism gardens will receive 100% of the unit price, while miscellaneous gardens will receive 75%.

The regulation provides detailed compensation figures for food crops and short-term vegetables. For example, winter-spring rice is valued at 46 million VND per hectare, while ginger and turmeric are valued at 100,000 VND per square meter. Ornamental plants also have specific rates, such as large yellow apricot trees receiving up to 600,000 VND per plant. For items not explicitly listed, compensation will be determined based on similar biological characteristics or market surveys involving at least three local businesses.
