Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange warns of investment scams
The Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE) has issued a warning regarding a sophisticated investment scam involving the illegal use of its name, images, and logo. Fraudsters are also falsifying the seals and signatures of leaders from the State Securities Commission (SSC) and the Ministry of Finance to create deceptive documents and investment authorizations.
One fraudulent scheme involves a ‘cooperation contract’ promising returns of approximately 1,600%. Specifically, scammers claim that an investment of 76 million VND can yield 1.3 billion VND. Another fraudulent document promotes fixed-return investment formulas, even promising to refund 200% of the invested amount in the event of system errors.
Scammers have also developed a fake application interface titled ‘HoSE Invest with HoSE’ to simulate a professional trading platform, displaying fake investor accounts, balances, and profits. HoSE has clarified that it has not issued these documents and is not involved in these activities. Investors are urged to remain vigilant, avoid providing personal information or OTPs, and report suspicious activities to the authorities.
