Ho Chi Minh City to rotate 1,000 doctors to local health stations

Ho Chi Minh City is implementing a new initiative to strengthen its grassroots healthcare system by rotating high-quality medical personnel to local health stations. Between 2026 and 2030, the city plans to deploy approximately 1,000 doctors—including professors, associate professors, and PhD holders—alongside 300 nurses, midwives, and technicians to community health stations. The program, with an estimated annual budget of nearly 98.5 billion VND, aims to improve local medical capacity and reduce the burden of patient transfers to higher-level hospitals.

In conjunction with these efforts, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health organized its fourth medical job fair in September 2026. The event saw a record number of participants, with nearly 1,000 doctors and medical staff seeking employment opportunities at public hospitals, regional medical centers, and local health stations. The job fair serves as a key connection point between young, licensed medical professionals and healthcare facilities looking to meet the growing health demands of the city's population.
