Ho Chi Minh City tree fall accident kills one person

A large tree branch fell onto a bus and subsequently struck a motorcycle on An Duong Vuong Street in Ho Chi Minh City, resulting in one death and one injury. The incident occurred around 6:25 PM on September 18 near the bus stop of the University of Education in Cho Quan Ward.

The branch reportedly hit a bus before falling onto a motorcycle carrying a husband and wife. The husband, a 59-year-old man from Ninh Binh, was transported to Cho Ray Hospital but passed away due to severe injuries. His wife, aged 57, was taken to An Binh Hospital for medical treatment.

Local authorities, including the Cho Quan Ward Police and Firefighting and Rescue forces, secured the scene for investigation. Heavy rain and strong winds were reported at the time of the accident. In response, the Cho Quan Ward People's Committee announced plans to coordinate with the Ho Chi Minh City Green Park Company to inspect local trees and perform necessary pruning to ensure public safety.
