Ho Chi Minh City woman suffers complications from illegal Botox injections

A woman in Ho Chi Minh City has reported suffering from myasthenia gravis following an illegal Botox injection procedure. The victim, identified as Ms. P. T. Y., stated she was lured by social media advertisements and initially met with a consultant at Medika Aesthetic Hospital.

Believing the service was being provided by a reputable institution, the victim was directed to a different location on Su Van Hanh Street, which she assumed was a branch of the hospital. At this second location, an individual identified as V. C. H. P. performed the injection. The victim was also instructed to transfer payment directly to the consultant's personal bank account.

Within one day of the procedure, the victim experienced drooping eyelids and severe pain around the eye sockets. After receiving inadequate advice to simply use warm compresses, her condition worsened, leading her to seek medical attention at Thong Nhat Hospital. Doctors there concluded that she was suffering from myasthenia gravis caused by the Botox complications.
