Liu Yifei faces controversy over social media post with Ho Ngoc Ha

Chinese actress Liu Yifei and Vietnamese singer Ho Ngoc Ha recently attended a Bvlgari jewelry exhibition in Shanghai. While the event featured numerous A-list celebrities, including Carina Lau and Wu Lei, a social media controversy emerged regarding Liu Yifei’s Instagram post.

Following the event, Liu Yifei posted a photo on Instagram featuring herself and the CEO of Bvlgari, but the image had been cropped to exclude Ho Ngoc Ha, who was present in the original group photo. Ho Ngoc Ha subsequently posted the original version. This action sparked significant debate on Weibo, garnering over 150 million views.

Critics on social media accused Liu Yifei of being pretentious and disrespectful toward fellow Asian artists. Conversely, supporters argued that the cropping was a routine professional choice for her personal social media platform or perhaps a mistake by her staff. The controversy led to Liu Yifei deleting the post.
