Hoang Anh Gia Lai clears 36,000 billion VND debt

Doan Nguyen Duc, Chairman of Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAG), has successfully led his company through its most difficult period after more than a decade of managing a 36,000 billion VND debt.

On March 30, HAG completed the repayment of its bond debt to the Vietnam Debt Management Corporation (DATC), an entity under the Ministry of Finance. Mr. Duc noted that this milestone marks the end of the most challenging era in the company's 30-year history.

Previously recognized by the Wall Street Journal as one of Southeast Asia's 30 most powerful entrepreneurs, Mr. Duc described the transition from his peak wealth to managing massive debt as a profound struggle. He emphasized that while the financial burden was immense, maintaining professional credibility and trust was his highest priority.
