Hoang Anh Gia Lai invests 791.8 billion VND in regional coffee expansion
Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) is significantly expanding its coffee production footprint across Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. According to its periodic bond report for the first half of 2026, the company has utilized approximately 791.8 billion VND from a 2,000 billion VND bond issuance (HAG12601) to fund various coffee projects.
Investment allocations include roughly 164.2 billion VND for a cooperative coffee project in Gia Lai and nearly 264.6 billion VND for another project in the same province. In Cambodia, HAGL has disbursed nearly 363 billion VND through the Stung Treng Agricultural Development Joint Stock Company. The company is diversifying its varieties, growing Arabica in Gia Lai, while cultivating Robusta and Liberica in Stung Treng, Cambodia. In Laos, key operations are centered on the Bolaven Plateau.
HAGL aims to scale its coffee cultivation from 3,000 hectares in 2025 to 20,000 hectares by 2028. To support this expansion, the company estimates a total capital requirement of approximately 14,220 billion VND for the 2026-2028 period. This move comes amid high global demand, with the International Coffee Organization reporting a 1.4% increase in global consumption for the 2024/25 season.
