Hoang Ngoc Han wins international painting gold in Hong Kong
Hoang Ngoc Han, a 13-year-old artist from Vietnam, won the Gold Prize in the adolescent category of the international painting competition ‘National Treasures Seeing the World’. The awards ceremony was held at the Hong Kong Palace Museum.
Her winning piece, titled ‘The Lac bird of Homeland’, draws inspiration from the Lac bird—a symbol of freedom and vitality found on ancient Dong Son bronze drums. The artwork integrates elements of sky, earth, and sea, alongside imagery of rivers and mountains, to represent the connection between Vietnam’s historical roots and its future.
Organized by the Hong Kong Shine Tak Foundation, the inaugural competition attracted over 10,000 participants from 13 countries, including China, Indonesia, the Philippines, Kazakhstan, Iran, Guyana, and Senegal. The event aimed to encourage youth to explore cultural diversity through art.
