Hoanh Mo Police apprehend suspect in transnational fraud case

Police in Hoanh Mo Commune have apprehended Ngo Bao Duy, a 2006-born individual wanted by the Ho Chi Minh City Police Investigation Agency in connection with a fraud case.

Duy admitted that after being unable to find work, he was lured online to work in Cambodia, where he became part of a transnational fraud ring. He provided his personal bank account to criminal elements to receive illicit funds and performed facial recognition authentication to facilitate cash withdrawals.

Following his discovery during local residency management and area reviews, authorities completed the necessary procedures to transfer Duy to the Ho Chi Minh City Police for further investigation into his specific role and actions in the October 2025 fraud case.
