Hoban Group serves patbingsu to construction workers to beat heat
South Korean construction firm Hoban Group launched a "Hoban Love Food Truck" program to help small‑contractor workers cope with the summer heat wave. The trucks supplied shaved‑ice patbingsu and cold drinks to workers at ten construction sites nationwide, delivering a total of 2,700 servings. In addition, cooling vests and heat‑emergency kits were distributed to 37 building and civil‑engineering sites.
The initiative, funded through a large‑and‑small enterprise cooperation fund, also includes temperature‑monitoring devices, mandatory rest periods when the felt temperature exceeds 31 °C, and the installation of shade canopies, rest areas and portable air‑conditioners on site. Hoban Group said it will expand the food‑truck service to more locations next month and continue to prioritize health and safety for its subcontractor workforce.
