Hoban Scholarship Foundation surpasses 20 billion won in cumulative aid

The Hoban Scholarship Foundation has announced that its cumulative scholarship disbursements have surpassed 20 billion won since its establishment in 1999. Over its 27-year history, the foundation has supported approximately 10,000 students.

Founded through the personal assets of Chairman Sang-yeol Kim, the foundation has restructured its scholarship system this year to focus on future industries. New initiatives include the ‘Hoban Innovation Scholarship’ for talent in science and engineering—specifically targeting artificial intelligence (AI), new technologies, and advanced materials—and the ‘Hoban Bridge Scholarship’ to support students at specialized high schools.

In addition to financial aid for approximately 500 scholars this year, the foundation is expanding its support to include career development and networking. Recent programs include leadership training, AI collaboration workshops, and industrial site visits to facilities such as Hoban Construction and Taihan Cable & Solution.
