Hochschule Campus Wien wins Ars Docendi Award for climate-resilient architecture project
Hochschule Campus Wien has been awarded the 2026 Ars Docendi Recognition Award by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Women, Science and Research. The institution received the honor in the category of “Cooperative Teaching and Working Forms” for its project titled “[EDU]cation – Emerging Design Units for International Education.”
Developed within the Department of Building and Design, the project utilizes a three-stage didactic concept to integrate climate-oriented architectural training with innovative higher education methods. The initiative involves international collaboration between students from Hochschule Campus Wien, Metropolia University of Applied Sciences in Helsinki, and the Universidad Politécnica de Catalunya in Barcelona.
The curriculum focuses on developing climate-resilient concepts for future kindergartens, addressing the social challenge of increasing summer overheating in urban environments. The project combines online teamwork with the analysis of different climate zones to promote sustainable urban development and resource-efficient construction.
