Hochtief acquires German Autmatec to expand energy grid business
Hochtief, a subsidiary of the ACS Group, has reached an agreement to acquire the German company Autmatec. Autmatec specializes in the construction, renovation, and installation of high and very high voltage electrical transmission lines.
Founded in 1997 and based in Walldorf, Autmatec employs approximately 80 professionals and generates annual revenues of nearly 50 million euros. The acquisition is intended to strengthen Hochtief’s position within the German energy infrastructure market, specifically targeting growth driven by the energy transition and the modernization of electrical grids.
The integration will combine Autmatec’s technical expertise with Hochtief Infrastructure and Hochtief Engineering, allowing the group to bid on complex energy transmission projects. The transaction remains subject to approval from competition authorities.
