Hockenheimring in talks to return to Formula 1 calendar

The Hockenheimring is in discussions with Formula 1 regarding a potential return to the racing calendar. Managing directors Joern Teske and Jochen Nerpel stated that while the project is currently largely theoretical, they are interested in a long-term arrangement rather than a one-off event.

Management emphasized that organizing a single race would not be financially justifiable, noting that hosting fees are approximately $20 million. The circuit's leadership expressed that a multi-year contract would be a more viable scenario to consider.

Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali has previously indicated discussions regarding the possibility of hosting races at the location in the medium term. The Hockenheimring last hosted a Formula 1 Grand Prix in 2019.
