Hockenheimring to host new hotel and hospitality destination
The Motorworld Group and Hockenheim-Ring GmbH have announced plans to develop a new 28,500-square-meter destination at the Hockenheimring in Germany. The project features a four-star design hotel with 159 rooms, including specialized ‘car suites’ where guests can use a dedicated vehicle elevator to bring their cars directly into their rooms.
The development will also include a spa, fitness area, a restaurant with over 200 seats, and a coffee bar overlooking the start-finish line. While a specific opening date for the entire complex has not been set, new gastronomic additions are expected as early as November.
Regarding the potential for a Formula 1 comeback, Motorworld Managing Director Andreas Dünkel noted that while the circuit desires to host the category again, current economic realities and the need for public funding make it difficult. Dünkel stated that once the Motorworld infrastructure is complete, the organization intends to engage in discussions with regional and federal politicians to assess the financial feasibility of returning to the Formula 1 calendar.
