Hockey Canada selects roster for 2026 Women’s World Championship

Hockey Canada has announced its roster for the 2026 IIHF Women’s World Championship, scheduled to take place in Denmark from November 6–16. The selection, overseen by general manager Danièle Sauvageau and head coach Kori Cheverie, features a younger squad including six first-time national players among the 25-player roster.

The decision to prioritize younger NCAA players has resulted in the exclusion of several Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) veterans, including Olympic silver medalist Jenn Gardiner and Sarah Nurse.

Team Canada will participate in pre-tournament games against the United States in Windsor, Ontario, on October 28, and Plymouth, Michigan, on October 30. In Denmark, Canada will compete in Group B alongside host nation Denmark, Finland, Japan, and Sweden.
