Hockey India President suspends Director General RK Srivastava
Hockey India President Dilip Tirkey has initiated disciplinary proceedings against Director General Cdr RK Srivastava, issuing a show-cause notice and ordering him to immediately cease all duties.
The suspension follows allegations of dereliction of duty and willful disobedience. Key triggers include Srivastava’s arbitrary decision to change the national team’s jersey colors without prior consultation or clearance before the World Cup. Additionally, Srivastava reportedly traveled to the World Cup despite explicit directions from Tirkey to the contrary.
The notice further alleges that Srivastava made unauthorized decisions regarding franchise coordination and the Hockey India League. As part of the disciplinary action, Srivastava has been directed to hand over all official records, assets, and operational charges to a designated officer pending a final decision in accordance with Hockey India Bye-Laws.
