Hockey World Cup preparations intensify for Wales men and India women

Wales’ senior men’s field hockey team completed a high‑intensity training camp in Terrassa, Spain, playing against the Spanish side and preparing for their World Cup opener against India on 15 August. After returning to the UK, they will join the senior women for a Summer Series at the National Hockey Centre in Cardiff.

India’s women’s team secured qualification for the 2026 FIH World Cup after unbeaten runs at the Hyderabad qualifiers and a victorious Nations Cup in New Zealand. Forward Navneet Kaur was named Player of the Tournament. The Indian squad will compete in Pool D alongside China, England and South Africa at the Wagener Hockey Stadium in Amstelveen, Netherlands, where the tournament will be co‑hosted by Belgium and the Netherlands.
