Hockeyettan and Staylive apologize to clubs over broadcasting disputes

Hockeyettan and the production company Staylive have issued an apology to clubs following a dispute over new broadcasting directives. The controversy arose from strict new rules intended to standardize match productions, which included limitations on the number of cameras used, restrictions on pre-match and halftime interviews, and mandatory uniform match graphics.

Clubs expressed significant frustration over the communication style and the content restrictions, specifically a directive that prohibited clubs from advertising their own 50/50 lotteries. In response to the backlash, Hockeyettan and Staylive have partially reversed several points. They have now approved 50/50 lottery advertising for clubs with national permits and allowed the use of two cameras if the production meets certain quality standards.
