Hoeksche Waard municipality adopts 2026‑2030 budget framework

The Hoeksche Waard municipal council will meet on 14 July to debate the Spring Budget for 2026 and the Framework Document for 2027‑2030. The council will set investment, spending and tax directions, with a projected €0.4 million surplus for 2026 and a positive outlook for 2027, but structural deficits of over €4 million per year are expected from 2028 due to reduced national funding.

The general board of the Hoogheemraadschap van Schieland en de Krimpenerwaard has approved its 2027 framework letter, outlining more than €1 billion in investments over the next ten years. Priorities include improving water quality, renewing wastewater treatment plants, reinforcing dikes against climate‑driven sea‑level rise and meeting European water‑quality targets.
