Hof Hörnemann implements large-scale solar storage solution

Hof Hörnemann, a family business located in Raesfeld, Germany, has implemented an extensive solar energy and storage solution to manage high electricity demands and rising energy costs. The farm, which supplies fresh food to the Ruhr region, requires approximately 146,000 kWh annually to power its cooling systems, heat pumps, four residential units, and electric vehicles.

In collaboration with partner Dirks Bedachungen, the farm expanded its existing photovoltaic storage system with six new E3/DC 'one' home power plants. The integrated system now features 180 kWp of photovoltaic capacity and roughly 225 kWh of usable storage capacity. A notable aspect of the installation is the use of an E3/DC Farm Manager, which allows nine different home power plants—including three older S10 E PRO models—to function together as a single cohesive storage farm through integrated energy management.
