Hof to host World Children's Day celebrations

The city of Hof will host a large-scale celebration for World Children's Day on September 20, 2026, at Wittelsbacherpark. Under the motto “Strong Children, Strong Future!”, the event aims to raise awareness for children's rights, a cause supported by UNICEF Germany and the German Children's Aid.

The program includes a musical opening with a family service and performances by the Farbenfroh children's choir. Various local associations, youth organizations, and emergency services will provide activities for children and teenagers. Mayor Stefan Schmalfuß is scheduled to attend the festivities.

In Germany, the observance of children's days varies by region; while June 1 is recognized as International Children's Day, the September date is traditionally observed in the former West German states.
