Hoffmann Baumaschinen expands fleet for German mine reclamation

Manfred Hoffmann Baumaschinen Industrieservice GmbH & Co. KG has expanded its fleet with the addition of a D71PX-24 bulldozer. The Duisburg-based company, which employs over 175 people, specializes in full-service rental for construction machinery weighing 20 tons or more.

The company is actively involved in the reclamation efforts of Germany’s largest brown coal mines, Hambach and Garzweiler, working on behalf of RWE Power. These reclamation projects are set to follow the phase-out of coal mining by 2030, which will eventually lead to the creation of the Hambach Lake and the filling of the Garzweiler mine with Rhine water.

In addition to heavy machinery, the company utilizes hybrid technology, such as the HB365LC hybrid excavator, to support sustainability goals. These hybrid systems are designed to improve fuel efficiency and CO2 balances by up to 30 percent.
