Hoi An duck farm tourism draws foreign visitors

A duck farm in the Hoi An Đông ward of Da Nang, Vietnam, has become a popular tourist attraction. Visitors are invited to feed thousands of ducks that chase scattered rice, creating a lively “duck massage” that leaves guests laughing. The farm can host up to 150 tourists a day, with the ducks working from morning until early afternoon and resting briefly at noon.

Foreign guests describe the experience as unique. An Irish visitor said, “The ducks made us laugh a lot and Hoi An feels wonderful,” while an American tourist added that the ducks were “very obedient” and “never seen anything like this.” An Australian visitor noted that the activity helped her “understand Vietnamese farming and nature.” The farm, which began welcoming tourists in February, sources ducks from local farmers and can field more than 2,000 birds during peak periods. Guests can also collect duck eggs in a separate area, adding another hands‑on element to the visit.
