Hokkaido Bureau of Telecommunications to host cyber incident exercise in Sapporo

The Hokkaido Bureau of Telecommunications, in cooperation with the Hokkaido Regional Information Security Liaison (HAISL), will host a ‘Cyber Incident Exercise in Sapporo’ on September 8, 2026. The event is designed to strengthen information security measures for companies and organizations within the Hokkaido region by providing hands-on experience in responding to cyberattacks.

The program includes a lecture on recent cybersecurity threat trends, such as ransomware and suspicious emails, followed by practical simulation exercises. Participants will engage in group work to practice identifying fraudulent links and simulating organizational responses to incidents, including internal reporting procedures and communicating with business partners. The session will be held at the ACU Medium Training Room in Sapporo and will also be available online via Zoom.
