Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo celebrates 30th anniversary
Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo is celebrating its 30th anniversary through various commemorative events and art projects. As part of the ‘Red & Black Canvas’ initiative, a massive 350-square-meter mural titled ‘Rising Guardian’ was unveiled at the entrance of the Daiwa House Premist Dome during a J2 League match against Oita Trinita on September 19. The artwork features a powerful depiction of an owl, the motif for the club’s mascot, Dore-kun.
In addition to the art project, the club hosted a special 30th-anniversary talk show titled ‘Let’s Talk Honestly’ featuring former player Ono Shinji and Takayuki Suzui. Other festivities included a ‘Consadole Sapporo Day’ at Mombetsu Racecourse, which featured merchandise lotteries and a talk session with former professional player and current club staff member Yuki Yokono.
Despite the celebrations, the team faces challenges on the pitch, having recorded a 1-1 draw against Oita Trinita, extending a six-match winless streak.
