Hokkaido experiences multiple accidents amid strong winds

Several accidents have been reported in Hokkaido, Japan, linked to severe weather conditions and mechanical issues.

In Date City, an elderly male worker was struck by a bundle of approximately five-meter-long iron rods after a crane moved due to strong winds. The victim was found unconscious and transported to a hospital.

In Otaru City, a garage collapsed under strong winds, trapping two men in their 60s and 70s. Both were rescued by firefighters and transported to the hospital in a state where they could communicate.

Additionally, in Otaru, a light vehicle lost a front wheel while driving because tire nuts had been installed backward during a recent winter tire change. The wheel rolled 30 meters and struck an unoccupied parked car, though no injuries were reported.
