Hokkaido GRUS ice hockey club to launch crowdfunding campaign

New ice hockey club Hokkaido GRUS, based in Kushiro, Hokkaido, will launch a crowdfunding campaign starting September 1, 2026. The project is being managed by Sportunity Inc. to secure operational funds for the club's inaugural season.

The campaign aims to raise 3 million yen to cover startup costs, travel expenses, equipment, home game operations, and community engagement activities. The initiative seeks to establish a sustainable club model that connects local businesses, players, and fans, preserving the ice hockey culture in Kushiro, often referred to as the ‘Ice City’.
