Hokkaido High School Baseball: Semifinalists decided

The 79th Autumn Hokkaido High School Baseball Tournament has determined its final four teams following the quarterfinal matches held at the Daiwa House Premist Dome.

Rakunogakuen University Towa no Mori Sanai secured its first-ever appearance in the tournament's best four after a 4-0 shutout victory against Shibetsu Shoun. Ace pitcher Riku Fujimura delivered a dominant performance, pitching a complete game without issuing a single walk. Manager Yasuharu Maeda attributed the success to the team's disciplined approach and intensive defensive training during the summer.

Shirakagakuen advanced to the semifinals by defeating Hokushou 6-4 in a 10-inning tie-break match. Their victory was supported by a collective pitching effort involving three different pitchers, including a scoreless relief appearance by Yu Kubota and a closing strikeout by ace Ken Goto.

The upcoming semifinals, scheduled for October 14, will feature matchups between Mushukan and Rakunogakuen University Towa no Mori Sanai, and Shirakagakuen and Hokkai.
