Pacific League race intensifies as Fighters and Lions battle for second place

In recent Pacific League action, the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters and Saitama Seibu Lions are engaged in a tight race for second place. Following a victory against the Seibu Lions in their regular season finale, the Fighters narrowed the gap to 0.5 games behind second place.

However, the Fighters subsequently lost a high-scoring contest to the Orix Buffaloes at Escon Field HOKKAIDO. Despite a professional debut home run from two-way player Shishi Shibata and a home run from Ryosuke Tamiya, pitcher Hiromi Ito suffered his tenth loss after allowing six runs.
