Hokkaido University to host lecture on forensic veterinary medicine

Hokkaido University will host a public lecture titled ‘Listening to the Voices of Animals: One Health and Forensic Veterinary Medicine’ on October 4, 2026. The event, held to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, will take place both in person at the veterinary medicine auditorium and online.

The lecture series features three experts discussing the science of animal abuse, neglect, and forensic medicine. Topics include the application of forensic veterinary medicine to protect animal lives, new initiatives within Hokkaido University, and the broader role of forensic medicine in supporting society. The session is free to the public and does not require prior registration.
